"Duke Nukem" : It's Good To Be The King

IDW Publishing's "Duke Nukem: Glorious Bastard"#2, based on the video game series, will be available August 2011, written by Tom Waltz, with illustrations by Xermanico and covers by John K. Snyder III :

"...'Duke' has made his way back through time to battle the mysterious (and mega-hot!) 'Vril' chick called 'Maria' and her bizarre menagerie of extra-terrestrial allies. It's WWII-era alien butt-kicking, 'Duke Nukem' style -- an all-out blitzkrieg of babes, bullets, and beers..."

2K Games next video game in the series, "Duke Nukem Forever", will be available June 14, 2011 in North America, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

"Forever" is currently in development with Gearbox Software, as a sequel to the 1996 game "Duke Nukem 3D" :

"...Put on your shades and prepare to step into the boots of 'Duke Nukem',whose legend has reached epic proportions in the years since his last adventure. The alien hordes are invading and only Duke can save the world.
"'Pig' cops, 'alien' shrink rays and enormous alien bosses can’t stop our hero from accomplishing his one and only goal: to save the world, save the babes and to be a bad-ass while doing it.

"...Duke arrives with an arsenal of over-the-top weapons, non-stop action, and unprecedented levels of interactivity. This game puts the pedal to the metal and tongue firmly in cheek.

"Shoot hoops, lift weights, read adult magazines, draw crude messages on whiteboards or ogle the many hot women that occupy Duke’s life - that is if you can pull yourself away long enough from destroying alien invaders. Duke Nukem was and will forever be a gaming icon, and this is his legend..."

A special limited Collector's Edition will be available upon release called "Balls of Steel Edition" for all platforms. This version will include a five-inch bust of Duke Nukem, a 100-page hardcover artbook following the development of the game, postcards, sticker, a comic book, playing cards, dice, poker chips and foldable papercraft.

"Our goal isn't to shock people," said Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford about "Duke Nukem Forever", "but I think there's some stuff that'll be just a bit uncomfortable. We try to get right up to that edge and then relax enough so people don't reject it."
