 It seems that the brouhaha was over the CBS sitcom Mike &Molly.
I don't think she remembers seeing other large couples on television.
Maybe her problem was with the courting process of fat people.

These two are even more overweight than the characters on Mike&Molly.

 Maybe she thinks that all Black women are fat so the Paynes would be seen as being normal.
