The Visual Effects Society, the entertainment industry's only organization representing visual effects practitioners including artists, technologists, model makers, educators, studio leaders, supervisors, PR/marketing specialists and producers in all areas of entertainment from film, television and commercials to music videos and games, will hold their 8th annual VES Awards, Sunday, February 28 @ Century Plaza Hotel, Beverly Hills, California. 
The VES reception, silent auction and dinner will be followed by the awards program presenting to Canadian-born film-maker James "Avatar" Cameron the 'VES Lifetime Achievement Award' and to Pixar's Ed Catmull, currently working on "John Carter Of Mars", with the 'George Melies Award for Pioneering'...
