In a world where sexual hijinks are regarded by the public as a 'roguish' personal matter, and not something that would put them off a celebrity endorsement (witness Bill Clinton and David Letterman), Peter Moore, president of EA Sports, publisher of the "Tiger Woods PGA Tour" video game series is sticking by his man, regardless of what people think of the pro golfer.
"By his own admission, he’s made some mistakes off the course," Moore said about Woods and his now public indiscretions."But regardless of what’s happening in his personal life, and regardless of his decision to take a personal leave from the sport, Tiger Woods is still one of the greatest athletes in history."
Since 1999, the "Tiger Woods PGA Tour" franchise has become the number one video game for golf enthusiasts, with the Wii version of last year's "Tiger Woods 10", and its 'ultra-realistic' golf swing controls, adding to the kitty of over $600 million that the franchise has pulled in.
Staying the course, EA plans to release their newest golf game "Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online", a browser-based 'social' game of golf, with the 2011 version available this summer.
