EA Finds Life In "Dead Space 2"- January 2011

Electronic Arts (EA) reports that the "Dead Space 2" Limited Edition version will now be exclusive for the PlayStation 3.

The game will be bundled with an HD version of "Dead Space Extraction" including full trophy support, co-op gameplay and 'PlayStation Move' support.

The first "Dead Space", survival horror third-person shooter video game, was developed by EA Redwood Shores for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows, released October 2008.

In the game, the player takes on the role of engineer 'Isaac Clarke', who battles a polymorphic, virus-like, alien infestation that turns humans into grotesque alien monsters called 'Necromorphs', on board interstellar mining ship 'USG Ishimura'.

"We're thrilled to couple two terrifying experiences in one box," said "Dead Space 2" executive producer Steve Papoutsis.

"With the Limited Edition, PlayStation 3 fans will receive real insight into the cause of the 'necromorph infestation' and the destruction that followed. This is the genesis of the dark and twisted world 'Isaac' inhabits. The addition of support for PlayStation Move allows us to bring a truly unique experience that was previously unavailable to players and we can't wait to see what they think."

"Dead Space 2" will be released January 2011.
