Go To Hell With "Dante's Inferno"- February 9

Visceral Games, an Electronics Arts Inc. studio reports that "Dante’s Inferno", currently available in Europe for the PlayStation3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360, will be released in North America February 9.

Depicting the nine circles of 'Hell, Visceral also plans to release a series of downloadable content packs and expansions for the game.

"This team did an amazing job adapting a 700 year-old piece of literature and creating a captivating, thrilling, grotesquely beautiful experience that both gamers and literature fans will enjoy. And to top it off, we are thrilled to bring online multiplayer and content creation to the game in April."

Included in the "Dante’s Inferno Divine Edition" exclusive for the PlayStation 3 , includes developer commentaries, soundtrack to the game and a digital version of the Longfellow translation of Dante Alighieri’s "Inferno".

A "Dante's Inferno" feature from EA and Universal Pictures, continues in development with a screenplay by Dan "Superman Returns" Harris.

In the 'Gates of Hell' demo, gamers experience the re-imagined past of 'Dante Alighieri' as a crusader who returns home to Florence to discover his true love Beatrice has been spirited away to the land of the dead. Sworn to her rescue, Dante journeys beyond to battle monstrosities and demons.
