Paramount previously made two movies based on the game, but rights have since reverted to Eidos, backed by Time Warner owning 19% of the company.
Lin will produce the new film through his Lin Pictures banner with co-producer Stephen Gilchrist, reimagining the origins of the character, her love interest and the main villain.
