Eco Chic

We all want to do our part to live green – right, my Fellow Fashionistas? Today’s post presents a select few designers who work with recycled, sustainable, and biodegradable fabrics. At right, a hand-embroidered cotton top by Conscious Cloth, featured in W.
These runway designs all incorporate environmentally friendly materials.

This Zampa tunic by Leroy & Perry by Lutz and Patmos for Barneys Green is made of recycled cotton - and its 60% off at Barneys Co-op, a truly environmentally friendly store.

Elroy Apparel, based in Toronto, makes sustainable garb as well.

Last, but most certainly not least: CC had the pleasure of meeting a local Designer yesterday whose gorgeous wares are made exclusively of recycled sweaters!
Nancy Frodermann, owner of Woolen It Be Nice, based out of Avon, CT, crafts the most exquisite scarves! They are 100% wool or cashmere, crafted entirely of found garments.

CC bought the forest green and off-white one (above, right) for a mere $40!

You may even recognize one of your own castoffs among the beautifully hand-made pieces below (note the American Eagle logo on the pink striped scarf!).

Nancy also makes accessories such as fingerless gloves (fab!) and decorative flower pins.

The floral accouterments are made of a silk and recycled wool blend.
You can view Nancy's one-of-a-kind designs here or email her directly at nanfrod@woolenitbenice.com if you have a particular scarf color combination or other request in mind. Woolen It Be Nice is delghtfully attentive to its customer’s needs; Nancy will email you photos of what she has in stock that matches your description.
Enjoy, darlings… And be eco chic!
