1. Why did you create this blog?

Couture Carrie began as a logical extension of my own personal style and trendspotting sketchbook. About three years ago, I decided to start sharing my ideas with my Fellow Fashionistas in the blogosphere.

2. What kind of blogs do you follow?

I read primarily fashion blogs, but I also follow a few foodie and architectural sites.

Happy Labor Day, darlings!

CC is honored to have received this lovely award from Statements in Fashion. It requires the recipient to state 7 random facts, so here goes:

1) I can whistle through my teeth. I call it "stealth whistling".

2) I was a gymnast until I got too tall. I can still do a back walkover.

3) I am addicted to Starbucks pumpkin scones. Dontcha just love autumn?

4) I lived in New York City for 6 years and didn't drive at all. I just got my license (again - had to retake the test since it had been so long since my license expired!).

5) My BF, Greg, is running to be State Representative. I'd love it if you would all become fans of his on Facebook!

7) I can swim a lap and a half underwater.

CC. West Hartford, Connecticut (by way of both NYC and Atlanta).

What would your perfect day consist of?
CC. Coffee and scones in bed with GP, checking in with my Fellow Fashionistas, shopping with my sister Mindy and lunch al fresco, a lovely run in the park, followed by some pampering (mani/pedi and haircut/blowout), then drinks and apps with the girls at my favorite champagne bar!

CC. Quadruple venti skim extra hot no foam latte!

Ten Years Hence

Darlings, CC was recently tagged by the lovely Gracey of Breakfast at Gracey's with this fabulous award, which requires the recipent to state where he/she hopes to be in 10 years' time. CC would love to be settled here in Connecticut with her current beau, GP. CC's dream is to own a restaurant/shop where clients can have a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and a bit of brie while browsing the most exquisite and exciting array of clothing and accessories!

And now, for 7 Interesting Things about CC:
1) I am a rabid overdresser.
2) I looove the cold, especially when it snows! This photo courtesy Fellow Fashionista Monica of Ciao, Chessa!
3) At the tender age of 10, I learned Origami, the Japanese art of paper folding. It is traditionally done with square paper but I couldn’t resist posting this dollar bill shirt!
4) It is nearly impossible for me to find shoes, as I am a size (gulp!) 41. Just got these amazing zipper detail boots on sale at shopbop.com ~ thank goodness Paul & Joe Sister make an 11!
5) I speak fluent Spanish. I was a Spanish and Art History major at Emory University and taught high school Spanish in New York City for 5 years.
6) I am addicted to the song “Fireflies” by Owl City. Addicted.
7) I flew DG’s plane (for about 5 seconds, but that counts, right?).
