Super Crazy Deal @Cheapskate

Cheapskate.com.my was launched on 22nd April 2011 and they are now ready to give the first awesome deal for 5 hours of Offroad Pitbike Adventure for 3 persons at RM399 (instead of RM750)!

Well, being very frank, I am not a motor biker. The only thing which I know is to sit at the back seat and enjoyed being rode. Oh, by the way.. I am a good cyclist you know. I used to cycle to school, back and forth when I was in secondary school.

So, when I am looking at the first deal, offered by Cheapskate.com.my, I think very hard whether to receive the challenge or not. I’ve come across with this phrase which made me think twice (even thrice)..

“Don’t know how to ride a bike?…fret not. As long as you’re able to handle a bicycle, the friendly blokes at Big Boys are willing to give you a free lesson! Just give them a shout.

So guys, let go of your mommy’s apron strings for once, and embrace your dark side! Ladies, unleash your wild side by straddling this mean machine.”

You see, I don’t like being challenged and was tempted to buy the voucher instantly. In my mind, there is nothing I can’t do, including extreme outdoor activities because I used to be:

1) A 6th place marathon winner at State level (2002)

2) Winner of marathon runner during in secondary school (2003 & 2004)

3) Winner of marathon runner at PLKN Bukit Besar, Kedah (2005)

4) A 18th place marathon winner in UM (2007)

5) Scout – Won for dancing, cooking and marching competition

6) Volley ball state player + UM level

7) What else?

P/s: I’m not a sportsman seriously.

But then… the list above is history. Ya, well I admit that. I am no longer that active and I realized my muscles are softening (lembik). The last extreme activities which I had done was last year, cycling at Bukit Cahaya. Unexpectedly, I fainted half way. I was lucky as Eric was there, saving me from the ‘nightmare’.  You might wanna read about that (here).

Oh, and next is climbing the Broga Hill too. It took me hours to reach the top hill and being very restless after that.

Sigh… I think I am old oledi… =((

No more stamina which I used to have. No more passion for outdoor activities. I think, I have been staying indoor too much.

I wanna bring back the active side of me. Being the not-an-ordinary-eggie, again. It’s time to hatch out from the egg after all the thesis writing. Hmpm!

Well, should I take the challenge and buy the tickets, or leave the great offer to you guys? Time is ticking and I am still thinking.

Left 4 days and 21 hours to think…. em….  Should I give it a try?

Banana Leaf Rice

It is my first time, driving all the way from my work place with my supervisor and coursemate just to have banana leaf rice. It is located at Puchong.

The experience was great although it was tiring at the same time because on the same day, I travelled a lot – while still working. Well, if it is not because of food, there is no need to travel far. Curry banana rice.. yum~

photoftheday1

Finally, a photo of me with curry! =D

Seriously, it was a great place to have good spicy food with lovely people. It was first visit of Shu Huan for banana leaf rice and she seemed pleasant with the food, except the ‘yogurt milk drink’. She seemed not enjoying it. Look at the expression! Classic. Hehe..

bananaleaf3

‘Moreh’ in tamil.

bananaleaf4

The curry was nice especially curry chicken. Believe it or not, I have not taken any chicken drumstick ever since Chinese New Year. It is my favorite part of the chicken but.. well, I am sticking to vegetarian food lately – because it is cheap. Like RM2 per meal.

bananaleaf1

However, I realized I am losing weight and I can’t afford to hear any ‘under-weight complaint’ especially from parents and closed friends. Even my supervisor said so =_=

bananaleaf2

Thus, today I had a real fulfilling meal, till loss concentration in driving back journey. Don’t worry. I am safe home =)

P/s: Body slightly feverish and get ulcer. Is it too much of curry? :(

Step-By-Step Photo Editing

Don’t you think the title of this post sounds like I am providing tutorial on how to edit photo? Well, I hope I can give tutorial .IF. I am an expert in this area (at least if I personally believe in my skills).

My editing skills isn’t that bad at all lar… right? You love all most of the photos I posted, right? Say yes. Please.. say yes.

#What did I edit?

Maybe you might be curious, what did I normally edit in photos before I posted them in blog? (some of my friends did ask me). Well, you are lucky for having this chance to read my’ secret’. Emm.. not secret at all lah because most people who know how to photoshop know this (even better than my baby-little-birdy skill)… =P

They include normal editing such as putting curryegg.blogspot.com link, placing alphabets, adjusting brightness, contrast, colour and cropping. Sometimes, I did lighten the colour of my obvious pimples, scar, eye bags and black head. Well, when you love a photo so, so much but because of the ‘highlight’, they ruin the overall photo and affect your emotion. Finally, you just have give up and proceed delete button. Sound familiar?

So, don’t you think photo editing software become the hero of life? Well, I don’t mean you have to fully rely on it. No. But you can use it wisely to fit your needs.

Don’t worry, I still have single lids (eyes), moderate head size, small bobs and thin lips even though I photoshopped photos. Well, one of the reasona is mainly because… I have limited photoshop skills (I’ve told you, remember). I still haven’t master the ultimate photoshop skills. Lol.. So, I don’t look much different compare to the real person – except, I wear specs in real life.

Next, I don’t want others to see me pretty in photos but ugly in real life. Or, detect vast differences between the photo me and the real me. Don’t you think it is sad to know that you only look nice in photos but sucks in reality? Ok.. maybe I should replace the word sucks with not-so-nice. Word courtesy..

Also, I am a type of person who is very lazy… I realize that photoshopping tests patience in which you need to sacrifice time and give full concentration in editing. Since I am a non-expert photoshopper, I took longer hour to edit a picture. Plus, I am using an old version of PS. I should upgrade it. Emm.. *adding into my to-do-list*

#Which is the step-by-step work?

Anyway, let see what I have done this whole night? See what is the step-by-step work which I meant?

The bad thing about knowing how to edit photo is that, you can’t stop yourself from ‘improving’ the photo. You will be tempted to try putting more effects on the photo which is already good. You will try to click every button which appeared in the box to fulfill your curiosity. So, in the end of the day, you will be tired and exhausted and having no mood to blog (like me).

So, there are 2 solutions which I currently think of that can save me from being unproductiveness. First idea: Master fast and effective photoshop skills. Second idea: Don’t photoshop at all.

Photoshop or no photoshop, well, just ignore that for now. What I need you to do is to voice out your opinion by pointing out which photo you like/prefer the most among these 5. I was so excited and motivated to play with the software hours ago. Thus, came out with these 5 different type of creations.

So, don’t mind spending few seconds to let me know which number of photo look the best?

Next coming post: I think, you can guess it yourself? =)

Be Nasty, Like Real Nasty

Just awhile ago, I met Irene, the oldest friend who I ever had in my life in a selected mall. Well, I would say.. ‘finally’ because it takes like ages to meet her after my Eggieque party. SHE. IS. A. BUSY. LADY. Without an early appointment (at least 1 month before the date), you will hardy be entertained. I am serious. I know she is going to kill me if she reads this. lol..

We had a real good conversation while having our dinner there. Maybe I shall blog about the best-friend-meeting in the following post because there is something I wanna share before I head off to bed since it is already 2.56am. I find this interesting, like seriously.

Irene said I am a bit ‘zen’, wait.. izzit ‘gen’? Well, not too sure about the exact vocabulary she used but I know she meant ‘boring’ or ‘old-fashion’. SHE SAID I AM BORING! Am I?

The conversation between 2 friends:

Irene: I think, your missing key might be something which you haven’t done in your whole life. There is some parts of you missing, like you have said.

Me: Oohh.. emm.. em… (immediately I know she read my previous post and tried hard to listen to her suggestion).

Irene: Maybe you should try to be nastier? Be a nasty girl once in awhile because in my opinion, you are too…. ‘zen’. It’s boring….

Me: Zen? Oohh… Zen.. There is Zen here (and I am thinking of Zen Cafe opened by Secret Recipe)

Irene: Haha… (not too sure if she got what I mean. Lol..)

irene19ww

Maybe she is right, my personality is kinda boring. Less dramatic characteristic. Obedient (sometimes). Soft spoken (maybe). Very rational (this is good right?). Less playful (am I?). And etc. etc. etc.. I guess I can see myself via the way I blog – like real lack of drama here because I am not using words like wtf, dammit, fuck, piss off, go to hell and %^$&*#?.

Frankly………..

Am I that boring? wtf.
Should I use more wtf-s? wtf.
Put in more nasty attitude? wtf.
Care less about people? wtf.
Use more harsh words in my blog? wtf.
Piss others off? wtf.

One of the reason why she suggested this because, this is an element which I have yet to try and should at least add a bit of this personality into mine. Also, she told me that maybe this is the thing in which I am missing and it might be the ‘key’ to unlock my mystery. wtf.  She is so fucking brilliant for suggesting this suggestion. Am I not right if I didn’t try at least once for the damn recommendation? wtf.

Now I clearly know why she gave me this present during in my 22nd birthday. I know why. Be nasty, yes? Super duper wtf.

"HEY YOU! Why are you smirking at me? STOP IT! WTH. You want me to smack you with a fucking spoilt egg? Get a life bitch. Wait, dude."

wtf. wtf. wtf.wtf. wtf.wtf.wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf.wtf. wtf.wtf.wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf.wtf. wtf.wtf.wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf.wtf. wtf.wtf.wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf.wtf. wtf.wtf.wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf.wtf. wtf.wtf.wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf.wtf. wtf.wtf.wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf.wtf. wtf.wtf.wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf.wtf. wtf.wtf.wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf.wtf. wtf.wtf.wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf.wtf. wtf.wtf.wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf.wtf. wtf.wtf.wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf.wtf. wtf.wtf.wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf.wtf. wtf.wtf.wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf. wtf.wtf. wtf.wtf.wtf. wtf.

So, am I nasty or what?

P/s: Now, where is the key? o_O

Vote Bei Shan – Maybelline Simply Fabulous Girl

Knowing Bei Shan in person is something which I am really proud of. She is a good friend who I treasure so much in my life as she has taught me a lot within these few years. Bei Shan is a person with strong confident and personality who will never let any negative comments put her down. She has this archetype of a warrior or fighter which I can sense, most of the time. How far this statement is true? Well, ask her.. =P

February 2008

She is a Sarawakian girl who is born with beauty and intelligence. Well, most importantly, she is real and genuineas genuine as the Microsoft. Lol… I have been knowing her like 2 years plus now, since the very first day I learnt that she is both my coursemate and hostel mate. I still remembered those days when the three of us, Shu Huan, Bei Shan and I walking from college (hostel) to classes and classes to college, holding each others umbrella in our hand. We share jokes, laughter, sorrow, anger and disappointment together which are unforgettable.

Can the three of us doing this again- walking side by side, catching each others shadows and calling ‘those’ who are late to class? Can? Can?

Having a friend like her is wonderful because you don’t have to hide any feelings behind the mask. Besides, you will hardly see the shocking true-color of herself popping out after some period of time because…. they are already shown up in the first meeting. That is why, I agree with what she has written in her short biography in the Maybelline Simply Fabulous top 10 finalist page.

Ng Bei Shan, 22

Date of birth:

1st March 1987

Occupation:

Student, Counseling (UM)

Ambition/Dream:

To be a whole-rounded person in life, live life to the fullest and to leave positive impact in other's lives. I hope to be an expert in the help profession and to help others to discover their potentials too!

Why did you join this competition:

I joined this competition because I want to experience something new and different. I was attracted to the prize that is to win RM10,000 and a free trip to New York especially the New York Fashion Week which is exclusive. I'd really love to visit NY because it's a city of Liberty and I've always dreamed of going to the states to live my 'American Dream'. So, I hope I can win to be on my way to overseas and open up my eyes! And of course, I'm doing all these because I want to discover my potential which I have overlooked all these while. Like Maybelline's tagline, 'maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybelline'.

Seriously, this is my first experience, having a friend who are close to me entering a big reality show and competition like this. This really intrigues me! Also, this is my very first post asking votes from my readers to support my friend.

There are reality shows for this Maybelline Simply Fabulous search in which the shows are about these 10 lucky girls and their journeys to a free trip to New York and RM10,000 as the winner. Oh my.. New York and RM10, 000!

beishan2 copy

I know how much this free trip to New York and RM10,000 mean so much to her in order to achieve her dreams. I have been hearing these several times from her in classes and I know she is serious about it, right girl? :)

So dear readers, do pay a visit to the shows and give your votes to her if you agree with what I have written here. The voting period will end within these 5 days. What are you waiting for?

Go here and start ‘Vote Bei Shan’

Thanks! =)

P/s: How ‘genuine’ she is? Well, you can watch this latest video clip… =)

P/s/s: Bei Shan, I have watched all the uploaded webisodes in 8tv website so far and I just love the way you are. May God bless you all the journey and hope that you can win!

P/s/s/s: We (the coursemates) are hoping to get a bus to your final. Now.. who should be the driver? Abang Hamka? =P

Fire Lunar Chateau

Time flies. It really flies before I realized that I am already 22 years 1 month and 5 days old. Oh dear.. will I get wrinkles and grey hair early? Well, in fact, I already have grey hair since I was 12. Sigh.. What a ‘good news’.

Anyway, this post is not meant for complaining my biological changes. It is regarding to the fire lunar chateau which Kevin, May and I built 3 days ago during the Latern Festival on 3rd October 2009.

latern11

In fact, it was initially Kevin’s idea to build a mini cooking place for himself. He said it is a man thing. Emm…

latern5

latern25

Talking about mini cooking using candles and stones, it has reminded me about an essay which I have written years ago as a homework. The title of the essay is, “My Most Unforgettable Memory”. I managed to find my so-called masterpiece and this is how my work sounds like:

I still remember the day when I was being punished by my mum when I was just five. It was an awful experience. No mooncakes, no celebration, no play. It was all because I was playing with fire.

It was a hot, scorching afternoon of the Chinese Mooncake festival when Sally, my neighbour invited me to a nearby field. “Kelly, I am going to show you this”. She showed me three boxes of small colourful candles. “Candles? Oh Sally, We are not suppose to play candles. It’s dangerous”. Sally ignored me. She left me for 2 red, heavy bricks from her house and then started to set up her cooking place. Sally is two years older than me. She has four brothers who will teach her all kind of masculine games. Of course, her brothers wouldn’t play barbie doll with her. Anyway, playing with candles was a big no-no for me, especially at my age.

She put two bricks parallel to one and another, leaving a small gap in between the bricks. Then, she put a candle in the gap. Soon, she took an old aluminum cover of a biscuit tin (probably from Milo tin) and put in on top of the stable bricks, just above the mini candle. Next, she took out a box of matches and lit up the scary object.

I felt guilty to join. However, the cooking games had really intrigued me. The temptation was so high that I couldn’t resist any longer. I finally gave in when the aroma of the ‘pandan’ leaves which she used were so pleasant. She melted some of the candles on the flat aluminum cover as the cooking oil while ‘pandan’ leaves as the food.

We played for the whole afternoon until the only candle left. All of the three boxes of candles were finished but we still wanted to play. We tired to find some solutions but not too long, I managed to come out with a mischievous idea. I wanted to steal my birthday cake candles at my home. I remembered that there were 5 pink candles left on my dad’s table. There were my birthday candles which had been kept weeks ago.

I quickly dashed to home and silently took all the candles. But, wait a minute! There was one box of colourful, petite candles just like sally under my pink candles. I was so grateful at that moment. “God! You have saved me”, I whispered. Mum was cooking in the kitchen and it was my perfect time doing the stealing work. Immediately, I took all of them with me and rushed back to Sally. Sally was so surprised to see the candles but happy at the same time. We continued our games until Sally’s mum asked her back for dinner.

Seriously, I had my most wonderful day..I thought at first. Everything was fine until the moon took over. Every Chinese neighbors including my family were preparing to join the latern procession which was held by the neighbourhood society. I was so excited to use my new, pink-in-colour, rabbit shaped latern and I couldn’t wait to join other children. Crowds were everyway and I could see every children was holding their own colourful latern on their hands. The remembered the moon was so round and bright. The procession will start in any minutes.

As I was so excited to join the crowds, suddenly my mum stopped us and asked my dad in an astonished tone, “Dear, where are the candles? We need to use them for Kelly’s latern”. Oh my God! My heartbeat started to pump furiously. Mum was going to find out my stealing candles attempt. And soon, she will know I played with fire. Well, I think you can guess what happened next.

Well, this story is based from my real life experience just, I am faking my age and the name of my friend (Sally) because I couldn’t remember my age and my childhood friend’s name. It is a good childhood memory because I gained both joy and pain in the very same day.. =_=

Anyhow, I am grateful because I am already in my sweet 20s and mum can no longer stop me from playing CANDLES… Muahahaha… XD

latern15

latern13

It was great that both May and Kevin could come over to my house in order to celebrate our very first Mooncake festival in Malaysia. Wait. Am I from Myanmar? Thailand? Korea? Emm.. I mean in Kuala Lumpur. Back in my secondary school moment, May and I used to celebrate this festival in together in our hometown but not this time when both of us have moved to the city which never sleeps. Well, this time was even merrier because we have a new companion – Kevin. Too bad, Eric couldn’t come.. =(

Anyway, we had a very wonderful moment when Chinese tea, mooncake and music were served (by me). Not to forget May’s 2 boxes of candles which were sponsored by her. Thanks dear. You have reminded me about my ‘most unforgettable moment’. Lol.. =P

latern1

latern3

latern4

latern14

Kevin had built 2 small buildings when his creating-a-cooking-place-attempt had bored him within half an hour. This was how the first mini building look like before the ‘earthquake’ happed. All the hot stones fell within seconds. (He accidentally knocked on a stone)

latern27

Having a strong level of motivation in himself, Kevin determined to build another building. This time, we, the girls helped him by consulting (May) and looking for better stones for him (me) to build a more stable one. Hehe…

And this was how the second masterpiece look like. I called it the Fire Lunar Chateau (Fire Moon Castle). Why? Emm… because it was built together with the element of fire during Mooncake festival and it does look like a castle.. Emm.. sort of. So, Fire Lunar Chateau was named by me.

latern22

The Open Ceremony event.. *clap clap*

After the opening, none of us failed to grab a few photos of ourselves with the chateau. It was indeed a beautiful moment under a romantic atmosphere (when soft music was played with candles light).

latern17

I love the moment of being togetherness as it has reminded me about the close friendship which we used to have. There was a time I felt so far from her as a result of our busy schedules and distance factors. Somehow, a simple gathering and a short meeting could strengthen back the bond. Isn’t that amazing? Well, maybe I can share this part of the story a bit deeper in another post. It believes it is something worth to be shared… =)

Well, the excitement continued with more and more photography sessions. Lol.. This is what I call the ‘new generation’ adolescence.. =P

latern20

latern6

latern19 Oh dear.. they really look like husband and wife. That is so sweet.. <3

It looks different from the top. Doesn’t the chateau looks like emm… shit? Oopss… Excuse me.. But seriously, don’t you think so? Sorry Kevin. Better view it from the sides or front or even back. Lol.. Definitely not the top!

Here are another few collection of photos which I love so much.

*running away*

Lol… I know I am going to be slaughtered once they found out. Anyway, thanks for coming and spending such a fantastic moment with me. It will definitely been stored in my long term memory. *hugs*

Thanks and wishing you guys all the best. Oh ya. Thanks for the singing belated birthday card. It is lovely and I love it. Now, where is my belated present? =P

My 22nd Egg Day

Yes!

I am officially 22 years-old now on this very 1st of September 2009. How wonderful as I have two "2" in my age. Many of my friends predicted that I will have a great time today. Well, I do have a good mood. I dressed my favourite dress, sing my favourite song and walk my favourite egg walk.

Oopss!!!
Egg walk?

If there is no class today, I know it will be even better. For your information, Tuesday is my busiest day and unfortunately, my birthday fall on this day. So, you can imagine how pack I am in which I have to attend classes from 8am to 6.30pm. Well, at least I have 3 hours gap.

Once I was home at 7pm, mum asked me to cook noodles (maggie mee) for dinner. What a great birthday dinner I have...
:(

There is so much to write about my day but I know, I should do this later or maybe tomorrow. I still have reports and revision need to be done. Don't worry, I still have a wonderful 22nd birthday memory as I have celebrated it 2 days earlier. It was a wonderful moment.. <3 style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 153, 0);">'a-picture-is-worth-a-thousand-words' job.

Observe and comment what you have found out from this picture.

"Happy birthday to me again!"

P/s: Thanks for all your sincere birthday wishes. You know who you are.

Flying Chilles With Friends

You know what, Flying Chillies sounded so much like an Indian Restaurant to me when I first reading the names. Only then I was convinced that it is a Thai Restaurant after browsing its menu when I was wandering around The Gardens with Eric. Yeah, a Thai Restaurant. A place where you can find chillies flying in the air like Nimbus 2000 or Fireboltz.

Lol...
I am just joking.

Can you believe it? I draw chillies but ended up like eggplants.
Lol...

It is a real nice place with good food and friendly service. Well, if you like spicy and sour dishes as much as myself, you will just simply fall in love with this cosy restaurant. That's also one of the reason why I persuaded William, May, Jane and Kevin to give Flying Chillies a try when they were deciding to throw dice, leaving our dinner to luck.

My artwork on plate! :D
This was done spontaneously.

Thanks God, they listened to me..
=P

It was 2 weeks ago when the 5 of us decided to meet up. It had been a year when we, the Penangites planned to meet up somewhere in Kuala Lumpur. Nothing had been done till that 'ISA day' - the day when every road which connects to the heart of the city was terribly congested. Well, we didn't purposely plan to join the crowds. It was coincident. Somehow, I felt like we had picked the right time because all of us managed to turn up and have fun!

William said, "The waitress of the day!"

Sorry if I've missed this. Kevin who is May's boyfriend had joined our ex-secondary classmates gathering for the very first time. We have a new guess for the very first time. Welcome to the family.

William, Jane, Me and May (from the left)

Our dinner was filled with joy and laughter which I really enjoyed a lot. I have been waiting so long for this moment to arrive. Chit chatting and updating each other news in a comfortable environment. The friendship bonds among us which I care the most have been strengthen again. Before this, we were like strangers to each other which were a sad scenario.

Promise me my friends.
We will meet again in future with more old friends filling up the gathering list. Let's make another warm meet up in Nibong Tebal!

Miss you!
=D

And you know what?
I love Flying Chillies because of its.......

Mango sticky rice!
*yum*
