Political Facebooking

Many people use the Internet in many different ways. This Social Networking Internet has become incredibly popular in recent years and the majority of that which I am involved in is the Facebook side of the Social Web.

More often than not I'm not using this platform in a highly political fashion. Commenting on political groups and sending personal messages to people inflaming political hatred against me or others.

Quickly I am seeing this is all just a road with no end. I only end up "blocking" people as they only lie and deceive even when confronted in a respectful and fact-based manner. This leaves me thinking that it's all pointless to be civil and be fact-based in the first place.

It's possible that much of the dishonesty and vile rhetoric is more tied to the nature of the "no consequences" Web, but I don't think so. I think the art of political debate itself is dead, murdered by the Tea Party and Fox News. Without facts and without any interest in civil discourse on both sides of a debate, the debate is by its very nature non-productive exchanges of name calling and ad hominem attacks of other natures.

How often do people question your faith, or lack thereof? Think on this for a minute. Now realize that on this Easter Weekend I have had some vile Facebooker question my faith. And for what reason? Because I called him out on spouting bigotry.

People want me to be meek, to be "Christian" in my words. I think not. I see all this vile fringe underground of politics coming to surface and I will fight the racist code speak, the outright bigotry, the partisan lies and the anti-American rhetoric. If they want to use their KKK tactics of ganging up on me and hiding behind the sheets of their fake accounts and fake names then so be it.

I shall be the stone that weathers the storm, and if I must die or be made a straw man or made an enemy of civility in the process then so be it.

I see not the strength to stand fast on the Left-wing. I see a lot of good people backing down or letting a pack of comedians lead the way when they are not the best people to bring forth the important issues.

The big part about Facebook that is highly deceptive is that many believe either that people are full of it and being insane or hyperbolic anytime they say anything online, or they believe that Facebooking is the answer to getting their voice out. In all honesty I am no different in the real world than I am online with only minor exceptions.

Some guy is currently trying to pick a fight with me, and I'm not joshing around when I'm trying to set up a time and place to just have the brawl. I don't care. Not anymore.

As the war criminal George W. Bush once said:

"Bring it on!"

The Addiction Of Facebook (Group)

A week ago, when I was staying at my cousin's house (Mac) attempting to finish up my assignment, unexpected guests came as well. They are my friends, Kenny and Choon Joo. Or I should say my junior back in high school.

I still remember how short they were back in my form 3 time. Cute, chubby and innocent. Well now? Not anymore. All of them have grown up and will soon becoming a man. Reflecting their faces in the past past has shown the message: Time flies. I wonder how much have I changed too?

Their intention to visit Mac were to surf the net while waiting for volleyball games. Same as mine. Ever since Mac's father has installed wireless, if I am in Penang I will bring all my work as well as my laptop, get a good spot and go online.

That Friday was an extra-ordinary day because the 4 of us ended up playing facebook games. It started from waka-waka, biotronic, typing maniac, word challenge and you name them. Seriously, I felt we were so crazy.

We competed, laughed and teased one another and that's why these photos are being taken - in order to remember the craziest memory when we were together with our own laptop.

The funniest expression I ever captured!
*grin*

Wait! Not to forget other electronic devices - the mobile phone. They could play while talking on the phone. Wow! I am real impressed.. I called this, the 21st century youngsters.

Ok. Back to my part. I really have to stop myself from playing all those facebook games. Addiction is good but too much is bad. Aizkkss...

P/S: You don't see me in the pictures because I am the one who snapped them.

Have you face this problem too? Or maybe your friends, family members or even your parents?
Oopss..

How Far Do You Know CurryEgg?

Seriously, how far do you know about me?

I am kinda curious lately. The level of my curiosity shoot up like Appolo 13 ever since Yee Yang, a National Service friend of mine forced me to do his quiz couple of days ago on"How Well Do You Know Me?" in Facebook.

This quiz is like a personal survey form, making own questions and finalizing own answers. Then, invite others to do the quiz and see how far they score. The highest the score, the better it is because it shows how much the person knows about you.

So, I did Yee Yang's test and ended up creating my own quiz. I thought of making a crazy survey form, trying to trap my friends. However, I didn't. Instead, I make a real, serious quiz in order to understand how far others know about me - The CurryEgg. Yes, real formal quiz. There are 10 questions.

Once the quiz is ready, the journey in discovering 'the secret' begins. In just one day, I received nearly 30 answers. Till now, the number has grown to 40. Oh my. Seriously, I am touched as my friends seemed to care about me. Besides, I can see most of them are trying their luck in scoring my so-called test. Haha..

Real thank you my dear friends... I have fun looking at your 'wrong answer'. Oopss.. Well, it is true because those wrong answers are so cute and funny.. Don't worry. I know you have try your best and most of you still do really well because you know my real name. Haha..

How about you? Have you tried the quiz yet?
If you haven't, do you dare to accept my challenge? Ok. That's sound so serious. Maybe I should say, are you interested in answering my Curryegg's questions?

Proceed here and let's start the "How Far Do You Know Me-Curryegg" quiz.
:D

P/s:
After this quiz, I should consider in making a 'about me' page for my blog. It will help you in knowing this blog owner better.. Then I can get present for my birthday.. Right? Haha..
