Warners Bros. and producer Dan "Sherlock Holmes" Lin plan to reboot "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider", the 1996-debuting Eidos video game franchise starring archaeologist action hero 'Lara Croft'.

Designed by Toby Gard, the character has been featured in movies, comic books, novels and animated short films, presented as a beautiful, intelligent, resourceful, athletic and reckless Englishwoman of noble birth who travels the world in pursuit of priceless antiquities. Lara frequently ventures into ancient and often hazardous tombs, ruins, traps and puzzles, encountering a variety of enemies including gangsters, prehistoric animals, legendary creatures and supernatural beings.

The cornerstone of a multi-million dollar franchise, the 10th-anniversary edition of the "Tomb Raider" video game was released in 2006.

Paramount previously produced two movies based on the game, but rights have since reverted to Eidos, backed by Time Warner, now owning 19% of the games company.

Lin will produce the new film through his Lin Pictures banner with co-producer Stephen Gilchrist, reimagining the origins of a younger character, her love interest and the genesis of a main villain.

The Paramount features starred Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie as 'Lady Croft'...
