Paramount Connects With Video Games...

Paramount will finance its own video games based on upcoming films and back catalog titles.

The studio is interested in handheld/mobile games, with a cost around 1 million dollars, compared with $20 million to produce a title for PlayStation or Xbox.

Paramount joins Warners as the second film studio to branch into publishing video games.

Matt Candler, formerly of Activision will be VP of interactive development, supervising the packaging of film properties into games.

Video games are part of Paramount Digital Entertainment, debuting "Jackass 2.5." on line.

MTV has also been involved with "Rock Band" debuting November 2007, and selling 1.8 million units...
